If ur cable also uses MBUS pin then it is a dual
cable which supports both FBUS and MBUS
This cable can be used as it is to PC side
But when u r connecting it to microcontroller
u have to convert the RS232 signals to TTL
so u will need to put a MAX232 in betwn cable and
Micro. Also u will need to connect DTR to +12V and
RTS to -12V (which u can find on MAX232)

But u can avoid all this by cutting the
DB9 header female and put ur own female
with no electronics.

With this scheme u CANNOT connect to PC but u can connect to micro and avoid the DTR and RTS connection

which is what I have done.
So now u can put a MAX232 anyway on ur board for sniffing comm betwn micro and phone, becos both r on TTL
(remembr the 5v to 3v though)
the PC is just a watch terminal now.
u can write a small progrm to send 55hex 128 times to phone
followed by get version frame. and see what phone
responds.
check the tutorial again

Hi Abicash,
Should i cut the DB9 female from the cable and connect it with new DB9 Female?
But i contains some electronis for level conversion right! could you give a clear explanation please...

you cannot do that on hyperterm
because u need to send some special hex
codes like 1Ehex which doesnt have equivalent
ASCII value(so u cannot enter via keyboard)
u can enter '0'(zero) via keybord which is ASCII
0x30 (30hex)..so u see its highly impossible to send a train of codes which do not have ASCII
equivalent, unless of course u send the whole frame
which is highly improbable.
Instead do the thing i mentioned previously

Or use some simulation s/w like proteus
which has a virtual terminal window
